May 28th 2003 ITS OUR BIRTHDAY! WOHOO! Yes HUSH is 1 year old and we have something special planned to celebrate it in style. The night will be the Launch party for this website. The website address will be revealed exclusivly to all who make it down on the night and also to those that request it by email on the 28th.

This is an invite only party. Invites will be available on a first come first serve basis by mailing a request to our email address which will be advertised exclusively in The Limerick Events Guide (LEG) who we would like to thank for their support over the first year of HUSH. The website address will be available on May 28th by email request.

So if you are reading this you are either at the party or else you have recieved the website address by mailing us. Well done! But theres more! If you are not at the club you can tune in live on the internet!

Yep we are hoping to broadcast the HUSH 1st Birthday party live on the internet from Daffys on the night. To tune into the live music click HERE after10pm on the night.

You can join clubbers and DJs at the venue as well as everyone tuned in around the world in our chatroom by going to the CHATROOM page here on the site.

Musically we have a great lineup on the night. Baram will start the night of with a laidback hiphop set will be followed by Eoghan Haris playing a live set of his own music. To get the party in full swing we will then have the best of HUSH sounds provided by a selection of DJs who have played at HUSH during the last year.

As if all this wasnt enough we are delighted to annouce that JP promotions will be providing original and stunning visuals throughout the evening.

As a final thank you too our loyal fans we will be handing out free CDs featuring one favourite track from each of the DJs who have played at HUSH over the last year - the best of HUSH as chosen by the DJs if you like!

Finally look out for profiles of all HUSH DJs and their topten tunes in current issues of the LEG.

HUSH @ Daffys - Wednesday 30th April. What is going on in Limerick bedrooms?? Well besides a lot of frustrated DJs there are a lot of frustrated DJs making their own music on computers n stuff and we are giving u a chance at a sneak preview of the music of tomorrow.

Its a Limerick thing so do not miss this chance at being one of a select few to hear them. Yes - KEVIN (aka Bee) will be mixing up his style of tune with his favourite CDs. TONY ROCHE will feature SubZero specials and his fave tunes. MARK BROWN is coming correct with his mellow vibes for real and he will also be providing the Visuals for the night.

This event is unique and not to be missed. This is a chance to hear the best in original underground Limerick sounds mixed with the tunes that these producers are influenced by....do not sit at home and say u know what's happening in Limerick if u miss this.....

All the usual HUSH stipulations.. Daffys International Bar on Catherine street...free admission...10pm onwards but arrive b4 11. that's it...c u there....Grinner.

Hi there HUSH fans!! Firstly thanks to everyone who replied with suggestions for music styles at the next HUSH. Acid Jazz, Funk and D&B were popular so we will endeavor to feature them on the night.

Wednesday the 19th of March is the date for the next monthly HUSH sessions at Daffys International Bar on Catherine Street opposite the Glentworth Hotel. This month sees the return of RIOS and JOHN COWPAR by popular demand. The last time these guys played was one of the best nights so far for the event and they are sure to deliver another cracking set this time around.

Also featuring on the night will be newcomer SEAMUS MARTIN completing a line up which will cover all aspects of laidback but funky music for this midweek aural treat.

Admission is still free and the night runs from 9.30pm onwards in the cosy atmosphere of Daffys downstairs bar. HUSH promotes local DJ talent. The Reggae HUSH was a great success - great music and a few new faces for the basement bash. Even people who are not usually into Reggae agreed that the tunes sounded great - most styles of music sound good if you hear them in the right setting and thats what HUSH is all about.

Thanks to all who made it down and especially to the DJs on the night and to Code as usual for suppling the dex etc Well the next HUSH will be in a few weeks but this time we would like YOU to help us decide what kind of music you would like to hear for the March event. So mail us back and we will cater for the most popular selection - probably a mixture of styles.

As always we are looking for new ideas and talent so if you, or someone you know would like to have a go at DJing at HUSH please let us know - the music policy as you will know by now is varied and we want to cater for everyone who likes styles of music not usually found in the mainstream clubs so get the thinking caps on and tell that music fanatic friend of yours not to be shy and contact us asap. HUSH, with its relaxed midweek athmosphere has got to be the number 1 alternative event in Limerick this month! Promoting Limerick based underground DJs is not easy but it seems to be working at this event.

HUSH returns this month on Wednesday 22nd January with a House music special. Its a triple debut for the 3 DJs on the night. Adrian G from Tyrone with a mixture of House styles, Small Paul from Jersey with - just House, and Kevin Maher from Limerick specialising in Funky Tribal House. Basically a typical HUSH night as regards music - a freestyle selection but always on the downtempo beat.

HUSH promotes local DJs who play all styles of music, particularly new and up and coming talent and they are always on the lookout for Limerick based DJs who would like a start in a relaxed atmosphere.

Next month will be a Dub / Reggae / Ragga / Hip Hop special. Any local DJs / MCs specialising in these styles should get in contact on 087 7426345 or email hushatdaffys@hotmail.com. The event runs every month 9.30 onwards. Arrive before 11pm to avoid disappointment. Admission is free. Daffys is on Catherine Street opposite the Glentworth Hotel.

Well that was fun..a week later and its time to look forward to the next one! We were delighted with the feedback from those we spoke to about the music, venue and general vibe - HUSH has taken off in a good way and all feedback is being ploughed back into the nite. A special big shout out to all the Art School kids - hope to see ye all again and of course to all of you who are new to this newsletter.

So, WEDNESDAY 22nd January is the date for the next HUSH at Daffys. This is going to be a night of pure House music but of course its open to interpretation what constitutes House so be ready for a few surprises! The lineup is, to start, myself TheEvilGrin with Oldskool House, then Kevin Maher with a variety of the genre, and next up will be Adrian G with the more Dubby toonz to finish off the night.

Apologies to those who had problems getting in, there isnt much we can do if you arrive after 11pm so please try to arrive early for the next one. Any advice or suggestions on how to make the night better for you is more than welcome so please let us know.

If you know a DJ who would like a spin tell us because we want each event to be different and packed with new and fresh musical talent - theres a lot of people big into music out there that need to be heard!

A limited amount of tapes from the last HUSH featuring Rios, Colm and John will be available at 3 euros a pop - so snap em up they could be collectors items some day ha! Also exclusive individual mix tapes from DJs who have played at HUSH will also be available at, yes, 3 escudoes....but of course we will still be bringing you the best underground DJs in the Limerick area for FREEEE!

Hello everbody!! Well for those of you who made it to the the last HUSH you will agree that is was the best night we have had so far. The venue was full and the music and athmosphere were excellent.

There has been many calls to make HUSH a weekly event but we will stick to the monthly format for the moment . Wednesday the 11th of December sees the return of HUSH at Daffys from 9.30pm onwards and we have a great lineup again for the night.

CODE and myself are taking a break for this event to give more time to our 3 excellent guest DJs. COLM CROSS will feature with his unique selection of toonz and after his last performance, RIOS will be hottly anticipated with his Jazzy Funk sounds. Finally finishing off the night will be JOHN COWPAR from Black Spot Records with an eclectic mixture of chilled out vibes.

As usual there is no admission fee, yep its FREE and there's a full bar. Try and get down early (certainly b4 11pm) to avoid the rush.

We have an open music policy and we often feature guest DJs who are new to the club scene. If you are a DJ and would like to give it a spin contact us. If you miss this one you got to wait a long time for the next one so get your asses n motion and support the local talent!
